The St. Vincent de Paul Society's “Uplift” is a program
designed to help someone manage his/her life with
ENCOURAGEMENT and SUPPORT.  “Uplift” is a process of
healing and assistance; a sign of the Lord’s concern for
an individual faced with fear, trouble and confusion.

Many of our clients find the path of life too difficult, too
steep. Trying to make it on their own seems an impossible
goal.  Your help as a mentor, counselor, companion on
the journey to successful independence is needed to
intervene in someone’s life by offering an hour or so
each week using your gifts of strength and compassion.  
Your attentive ear can help mend the life
of a person who has forgotten how to trust.  You may be
one who is called to faith, one who can be the hands of
Jesus by offering hope and encouragement while
working towards a specific goal.

The “Uplift” program is intended to assist a person in
attaining a higher level of self-sustenance and may
provide some level of financial assistance for the
short term in order for a client to achieve a goal such as
completion of school or training, completion of a medical
program, etc.
