Jerry Brocky SVdP Pantry Manager
Jerry has been the pantry manager for the SVdP Society for three years. He maintains the daily functions of the pantry on Leavenworth Street by ordering food from the Food Bank of the Heartland, accepting donations from the people of Omaha and surrounding communities, and then serving the clients. Under his direction, the food pantry has made numerous connections in the community, including donations from grocery stores, companies, and even a farm that provides produce for our clients. The food pantry currently serves around 130-150 clients per day. It is open twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Jerry received his Bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in 2010 in Theology and Secondary Education. He spent several years teaching theology, including time as a postulant with the De La Salle Christian Brothers in Philadelphia and Memphis. Upon starting with the SVdP Society, Jerry received his Master’s in Ministry from Creighton in 2017. In his free time, when not working one of his three jobs, Jerry enjoys playing tennis, spending time with his nephews, and walking his two Shelties. In addition to being a Vincentian, he belongs to YCP Omaha, a Catholic young adult group. |
